Project Overview
Aidanfield Christian School in Halswell, Christchurch, recently underwent a building extension project aimed at enhancing its facilities for students. The primary objective was to implement state-of-the-art KNX Lighting Controls, to optimise lighting functionality across various spaces within the school extension. Christchurch Electrical were entrusted to carry out the installation and automation programming of the lighting controls, provided and commissioned by BREMCA.
Project Scope
The KNX Lighting Controls were strategically deployed to cover the new breakout space, two teaching areas, a staff resource zone, and a minor alteration to the existing building. The specifications for the lighting controls were meticulously outlined by WSP, and Simon Construction appointed Christchurch Electrical for the execution of the project.

KNX Lighting Controls
The KNX control system used at Aidanfield School offers a cost effective, sophisticated solution for building automation. The system has the capacity to cover lighting, heating, cooling, ventilation, security, and visual systems, along with web interface capabilities. The scalability of KNX allows for nearly 60,000 devices to be connected on a single network, providing a flexible architecture that can grow with the evolving needs of a project.
