Electrical Estimator - Commercial

Play a key role in pricing major commercial projects for one of Canterbury’s most trusted electrical contracting companies.

We are a highly respected operator in the commercial tender market, with a proven track record delivering some of Christchurch’s most prominent projects.


With a large and experienced team — including project managers, estimators, supervisors, and more than 50 qualified electricians — we have the scale, systems, and expertise to ensure exceptional project outcomes.


About the Role


We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator to join our commercial division. This role is pivotal in helping Christchurch Electrical continue to win and successfully deliver medium‑ to large‑scale commercial projects.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Preparing accurate, competitive tenders for commercial electrical projects.
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Working closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure pricing accuracy and project feasibility.
  • Sourcing competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Supporting bid submissions and contributing to securing high‑value projects.
  • Ensuring estimates align with our proven ability to deliver on time and within budget.

About You


You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience estimating commercial electrical projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial installation methods and materials.
  • The ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills to collaborate with our multi‑disciplinary team.
  • High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
