How much do heat pumps really save?

Did you know that heating and cooling account for about half of your home energy use?

One of the easiest ways to control your costs, whilst obtaining more heat or cooling with less energy use is with an energy-efficient heat pump. A heat pump typically uses 1kW to create 4kW of heat, whereas an electric heater uses 1kW to create only 1kW. Running costs will vary depending on the household usage and electricity rates.

Will a heat pump work well in my climate?

Christchurch has a temperate climate which is ideal for heat pumps. While it does get cold at night, there are several brands that work perfectly in our Canterbury temperatures.
