Christchurch Electrical provides electrical thermal imaging inspections to domestic, commercial and industrial customers.

Thermal imaging is non-contact, non-invasive and best carried out when the switchboard is under normal operating conditions.

Avoid unnecessary electrical faults and identify potential switchboard hazards early.

What is thermal imaging?

Thermal imaging (or thermography) is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to determine thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal or infrared energy is light that is not visible to the naked eye and is part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat.

Thermal imaging Thermal imaging

Our infrared cameras produce images of invisible heat radiation and provide precise non-contact measurement capabilities.

Nearly everything gets hot before it fails, making infrared cameras extremely cost-effective and valuable diagnostic tools used in many diverse applications.

Who would benefit from an electrical thermal imaging inspection?

Both domestic and commercial customers would benefit from this service. Our comprehensive colour reports are often required by:

  • insurance companies
  • property managers
  • landlords
  • homeowners

Electrical thermal imaging inspections:

  • can be performed when systems are under load
  • scan a wide view, not just a point
  • identify and locate trouble spots
  • tell you exactly what needs to be fixed
  • allow you to schedule repairs before expensive breakdowns occur

Trained Operators

Christchurch Electrical has senior electricians trained to Level 1 Thermography. Their electrical experience is a critical factor in the diagnosis process. A full colour, bound report is provided at the completion of the job with any recommendations and preventative maintenance included.
